BOULDER, Colo. (Dec. 20, 2022) — Cozy Coats for Kids® recently provided brand-new winter coats for children at two community events in Brooklyn, N.Y., this past weekend. The events were hosted by Children of Our Community, a faith-based charitable organization run by Latoya Shepard. They featured a food and toy drive, in addition to the coat giveaways, to help local families in need during the holiday season.
Shepard started coordinating her order at the end of summer 2023. She identified children in her community who needed a winter coat and collected their order information, which included their size, favorite color and style. CCFK purchased and labeled each coat for each child and shipped them directly to Shepard at no cost in time for the holiday event. After the event, she said, “I would like to thank you and your team for helping me to put smiles on the kids’ faces.”
With donations collected throughout the year from home inspectors, Cozy Coats for Kids® runs its Annual Coat Delivery Program to help underserved communities through organizations and schools nationwide by providing brand-new children’s winter coats for distribution at events such as this one.
