FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Cozy Coats for Kids® Delivers Brand-New Children’s Coats to Habitat for Humanity Families
BOULDER, Colo. (Nov. 8, 2019) – As part of the Cozy Coats for Kids® Annual Coat Delivery Program, brand-new winter coats were delivered to six different families that are in partnership with the Chemung County, New York, Habitat for Humanity. The Chemung County Habitat for Humanity helps families in their community find safe, affordable housing by eliminating inadequate housing through construction, rehabilitation and preservation.
This delivery was coordinated by longtime InterNACHI® member John Bowman. John also provides InterNACHI’s “Now That You’ve Had a Home Inspection” book to the Habitat for Humanity community, both the English and Spanish editions, to help new tenants and owners understand how to maintain their homes properly.
With the funds raised by inspectors throughout the year, each coat was purchased for each child based on their own style and color preference, which organizers submitted to the charitable organization in mid-October. The brand-new winter coats ranged from snowsuits for babies, to pea coats for girls, and parkas with fur-lined hoods for boys.
If you’d like to get involved in helping the children in your community, visit www.CozyCoatsForKids.org to find out more.
Cozy Coats for Kids® is not a coat drive; it provides children with the opportunity to pick a new coat in their favorite color and style, and then delivers them directly to the children for free. Through donations, Cozy Coats for Kids® purchases brand-new winter coats with the intention of empowering children by instilling them with confidence and promoting wellness.
