BOULDER, Colo. (Dec. 10, 2021) – For the third year in a row, Habitat for Humanity® has participated in the Cozy Coats for Kids® Annual Coat Delivery Program. Habitat for Humanity® helps families in their local communities find safe, affordable housing through construction, rehabilitation, and preservation. Cozy Coats for Kids® provided brand-new winter coats to children in the local Habitat for Humanity® network located in Chemung County, New York.
Family Services Coordinator Sheila Russell collected the coat orders from families based on their children’s favorite color and style. Cozy Coats for Kids® purchased the coats and delivered them directly to Ms. Russell for distribution. She stated, “Cozy Coats for Kids has become a big part of helping our families get through the winter months.”
This partnership was initially coordinated by longtime InterNACHI® member and home inspector John Bowman, whose business is based in Elmira, New York. Although some orders for coats come in randomly from the general public, the majority of requests are submitted by home inspectors.
Cozy Coats for Kids® relies on members of the inspection profession to help raise funds to purchase and deliver free coats to kids in need. For information about supporting Cozy Coats for Kids®, visit www.CozyCoatsforKids.org.
