BOULDER, Colo. (Nov. 7, 2023) — Cozy Coats for Kids® recently partnered with the nonprofit organization Family Beehive to provide free brand-new winter coats to families within their network. The coats were distributed to the participating families at their wellness workshop in White Plains, N.Y. Family Beehive works with women and their families, many of whom are survivors of domestic violence, and connects them with solutions to the urgent challenges they face through their relationship with partners like CCFK.

The coat giveaway was coordinated by CCFK and with Family Beehive’s Executive Director Amanda Alvarado-Frantz. She said, “Receiving the coats provides our families with both a tangible need being met, and also the knowledge that they are supported, cared for, and can be empowered by a larger community. Family Beehive has worked with many women who are despondent in their inability to provide all of the necessities for their children. We gave the coats to the mothers so they could deliver the coats to their children. Seeing the smiles and joy from each woman who received a coat for their child was priceless.”

She continued, “Partnering with Cozy Coats for Kids allowed us to meet a need many of our families have in preparing for the colder weather. This partnership also deepened our relationship with other community partners who have come to depend on the connections we make to expand their capacity to serve the community.”

Alvarado-Frantz shared some photos from the event, which include some mothers receiving their children’s coats, along with a few of their staff.
