BOULDER, Colo. (Oct. 29, 2026) — Through its Annual Coat Delivery Program, Cozy Coats for Kids® has provided brand-new children’s winter coats to the Aurora Community Clothes Closet in Shoreline, Washington.
The Aurora Community Clothes Closet is hosted by Aurora Church of the Nazarene and serves K-12 students in the Shoreline School District. Once a month, students can select new or gently used clothing, shoes, and hygiene products.
For the coat delivery, Lauri McKinley, Executive Pastor, collected the coat sizes and color preferences of children in need of winter coats and submitted the order to CCFK. The organization then hand-selected a brand-new winter coat for each child based on their preferences. The coats were delivered in mid-October, at no cost to the partnering organization or recipient families, ahead of Shoreline’s chilly winter weather, when temperatures can drop below freezing and frequent rain adds to the need for warm outerwear.
McKinley shared, “We received 19 coats from Cozy Coats for Kids and had a blast handing them out to the kids who signed up for [the program]! Our favorite was this 9-year-old girl who received a purple, sparkly star coat—exactly what she wanted and loved. Thank you so much for helping us bless our community!”
CCFK adds a personalized tag with each child’s name to their coat to simplify distribution and let each child know it was selected just for them. The photo below, taken by McKinley, shows the coats ready for distribution.
